"What a Poster" is fine for those without Print Shop GS. PSGS is easy to use, has lots of images on the market, and gives professional results without a lot of hassle. It is also great for people like me who do not draw well. My friends and family are amazed at the results. Love Spencer's Pages! It is amazing the amount of detail in his work. We really enjoyed "The Special Professor Report" from a previous issue. [issue #15]
I would be interested in your publishing more multicolored clip art. I find it hard to color the clip art for use in various publishing projects. I am also looking for more templates of all kinds for AppleWorks GS.
Thank you for taking the time to listen and your cooperation in resolving the issue related to G-S #15. One of the things I have appreciated about your organization from the start has been your willingness to service your customers and correct problems. Too bad Apple hasn't been so thoughtful.
Concerning G-S #18 -- the Jennifer font is nice, but the more point sizes, the better. Point sizes 10, 12, 18, 20, 24, and 36 are useful because that would give high quality at 3 sizes. Your set up only gives high quality in the 12/24 combination. You also included the 14 point which I don't use too often. A utility like "Fontasm" is a great aid in doubling point size. All you need to do is smooth out the rough edges. I have seen "Antetris". I think the graphics are adequate for that type of game, certainly not worthy of a "B". Have you seen "Columns 2.0?" The graphics there deserve an "A" or a "B". The icons you included were great, but most lacked a small version.
Rarely do I ever write or respond to magazine/periodical columns, computer or printed, but I thought you might like to hear this:
I had been a subscriber to Softdisk G-S since its start-up and had started getting a little let down, what with Apples stepchild treatment of my IIgs and the industries seeming endless enthusiasm for the Mac. (Everytime you open a magazine these days, there they are laid out in a pretty little row.) Don't get me wrong, we have a Mac at work and it's a great machine, but I don't need a 200 meg hard drive, tape backup, and laser printing at home. My IIgs does just fine, thank you very much.
For the last several months, I had been working a lot of overtime and had little time to spare for fun, i.e. no computer time, either. Needless to say, I had also fallen behind on my reading, let my SDGS subscription expire and as of yesterday (3-21-91) just now got around to issue #16, but WOW, what an issue!
I had gotten discouraged enough with Apples hype of the Mac to recently check into trading my IIgs for a Mac (what a bummer), since I can't afford two systems at home and some major software all seems aimed at the Mac, but forget that!
Your Pyramid card game was great, but more important, the articles describing how everybody under the sun had been predicting (incorrectly) the Apple II lines downfall for years with the advent of any new Mac or other system really hit home for me.
You will be happy to know that it took me about a nanosecond to renew my SDGS subscription, buy the two issues that I had missed and forget about a Mac in the house until somebody makes compatible systems and caters to my IIgs. I also am ordering some more RAM and an accelerator card.

I also realized that I was to some extent being influenced by all the ads and the hype for the Mac, because when I sat down and thought about it, I really don't have any complaints with my system. Great color, fantastic sound, speed that is more than enough for home use (especially with a Zip Chip or Transwarp GS) and ease of use to the extent that my nine year old daughter is now a four year veteran user.
How about some more card games? I already subscribe to inCider A+, could you recommend some other magazines? My daughter would love to see some Clip Art style drawings that are "outline"only, ready for coloring or alteration. How about it? Thanks again.
I really like the Dark Designs series of adventures. I would like another series to be started, right away. Use the same format, same game generator, same author, but change the story line to aliens, trolls in caves, or motorcycle gangs in greater Metropolis or any of a host of excuses to play more of this type game.
I have used these games as a tool with which to learn how to use the file editor portion of ProSel. I do not claim to be a wizard in this area, but I have enjoyed the puzzle of what bytes relate to which features. I have really enjoyed these games and I thank your organization for presenting them to us. I do have one suggestion that might make these games even more popular to the normal game player.
I would like to be able to have my team graduate from one game to the next game, keeping all their acquired experience, spells, weoponry. It would be great to be able to use my favorite team throught the entire series, keeping their skills and abilities growing constantly as we go.

How about featuring a full function telecommunications program on an upcoming issue? I can't find a GS specific program except the one in AppleWorks GS (and it won't work properly). In contacting Claris, they told me that they have no plans to fix the "bugs" in it. Another prime example of GS product support!
Keep up the good work. Any gossip on AppleWorks upgrades in the near future? We need a way to stop the printer -- short of rebooting. Thanks for the new system. Do I dare install it on my Vulcan drive? I heard I might need a special version of GS/OS direct from Applied Engineering.
What A Poster! G-S is very, very good! How about some "Consumer Reports" types of segments on 3.5" drives, 5.25" drives, accelerators, memory expansion cards, and software?
Dark Designs III is a fun game but as a teacher I won't be needing this for my class. The Clip Art I will not be needing as well. I liked very much the Mandarin Font. I was able to install that directly onto my "Pyware Music Writer" program. Thanks for a great value -- Softdisk G-S.
Instructions are needed to be able to use the disk. I can't use the Print Shop graphics. My Print Shop disk is at slot 5. When I put them in my second drive -- slot 3. I cannot get them to run.
I would like a program for the IIgs which includes a grammar checker, and a thesaurus dictionary. My custom dictionary is being filled with psychological terms, etc. I need one to use for thesis and dissertation preperation.
